A staple in Volkswagen’s lineup for well over a decade now and solidly into its second generation, the Tiguan is the German automaker’s practical, midsize SUV that’s garnered a few updates in 2020. These updates include an uber intelligent trim-level, the IQ.DRIVE version, that brings together Volkswagen’s latest and greatest in road safety and driver assist systems, and Volk’s design and engineering.
While this current generation of Tiguan has been on the road for a few years now, the introduction of the IQ.DRIVE version is rather new and definitely worth looking into. Situated between the Comfortline and Highline, the IQ.DRIVE offers up everything from teh Comfortline with an added dose of technology and driver assistance.
For starters, the 2020 Volkswagen Tiguan IQ.DRIVE is equipped with a 2.0L TSI engine that produces 184 horsepower and 221 lb-ft of torque, and can be configured with FWD or Volkswagen’s 4MOTION all-wheel drive. Regardless of engine choice, the Tiguan IQ.DRIVE is also equipped with an 8-speed TIPTRONIC automatic transmission.
As far as options go for the Tiguan IQ.DRIVE, there is an optional third-row that can be added for an extra cost, but not much more can be added to the already well-equipped CUV.
Now, about the IQ.DRIVE features and capabilities. For starters, the Tiguan IQ.DRIVE is equipped with driver assist features that include adaptive cruise control (with automatic follow-space adjustment), lane assist and auto-dimming high beams. The IQ.DRIVE edition is offered in a unique Petroleum Blue Metallic paint colour with special IQ.DRIVE badging on the B-pillars, as well as exclusive 18” alloy wheels that really elevate the Tiguan’s road presence and stance on the road.
The new 2020 Volkswagen Tiguan IQ.DRIVE sets itself apart from the pack with its unique onboard features and exterior paint colour. Already a practical and well-designed vehicle, the Tiguan IQ.DRIVE takes an already capable CUV and takes it to a whole new level.
