The 2021 Volkswagen Atlas was presented at the Chicago Auto Show earlier in February. Although at first glance it seems identical to the current Atlas, it still offers some differences.
The personality and DNA of the Atlas has not changed with the improvements made in 2021, however. It remains the most elegant, refined and fun to drive mid-size SUV in its segment thanks to its German origins. The changes for the 2021 model year add to the features we already knew of the Atlas that make the SUV stand out in its class.
Here's a look at the differences between the improved Atlas and the current model.
- The 2021 Volkswagen Atlas has a more rounded look and a new face with the new Volkswagen logo
- The new Volkswagen logo can also be found inside on the steering wheel
- The 8-inch central screen is now available on more versions
- It offers new 18-, 20- and 21-inch rims
The biggest difference, however, is under the hood. Still offering a 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder engine with 235 horsepower as standard, the new 2021 Atlas will be available with 4Motion all-wheel drive even in the entry-level model, which is not the case with the current model. The 3.6-liter V6 engine is also available with 276 horsepower.
The new 2021 Volkswagen Atlas will hit the market early this summer.
