The 2022 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport benefits from all of the latest active safety and driver assistance features in order to keep everyone on board safe.
A system that sees the dangers ahead
All versions of the 2022 Volkswagen Atlas are equipped with the Front Assist, a system that uses multiple sensors to detect any potential hazards crossing the path of the vehicle, such as another car or a pedestrian. When it detects a risk of accident, the Front Assist set off a loud alarm to bring the risk to the attention of the driver. If they don’t react quickly enough, the Atlas Cross Sport will brake automatically to avoid the accident or to reduce the force of the impact.
A technology that makes hills as easy as flat ground
The 2022 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport is available with the Hill Hold Assist and the Hill Descent Control in order to provide an additional level of safety on steep grades, especially when driving off-road. This means that the Atlas Cross Sport will hold the brakes until the driver has depressed the accelerator pedal when starting on a hill in order to avoid a potentially dangerous roll-back. When descending a steep hill, the vehicle is capable of maintaining a low and steady speed at all times by modulating the brakes on each wheel, which prevent the vehicle from sliding as a result of a harsh brake application.
A way to keep the vehicle safely in its lane
The 2022 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport is equipped with the Side Assist. This technology looks out for the road markings that indicate the lane the vehicle is traveling in and it works to maintain the same distance between the vehicle and the markings on each side by acting on the steering system of the Atlas Cross Sport. If it detects a lane marking that is being crossed without the turn signal being activated, Lane Assist warns the driver and brings the vehicle back to the center of the correct lane.
