The new 2020 Atlas Cross Sport opens a new era for Volkswagen. This mid-size, two-row crossover is earning accolades for its available space, power, style, and standard equipment for its class. Three trims comprise the inaugural lineup for 2020, including the Trendline, Comfortline, and Execline.

The Atlas Cross Sport’s profile is sporty and rugged, and it includes many standard features that adapt to Canadian driving conditions. These include: cornering lights with poor-weather lights, LED tail lights, silver roof rails, power-adjustable, heated exterior mirrors, rain-sensing wipers, heated washer nozzles, 18" alloy wheels (20" on the Execline) and all-season tires.

The Atlas Cross Sport provides the choice of two capable engines. The Trendline and Comfortline receive a turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder engine that produces a robust 235 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. This most common engine in the lineup, it is more powerful than some of its major competitors. The Execline and Comfortline (optional) trims feature a 3.6L six-cylinder engine that generates 276 horsepower and 266 lb-ft of torque. 

All trims receive AWD, an advanced eight-speed automatic transmission, start/stop system with regenerative braking, speed-sensitive power steering, Driving Profile Selection and electronic parking brake.

The Atlas Cross Sport offers more room than several of its competitors, and it is 104mm longer than the Chevy Blazer. This results in additional space dedicated for cargo and passengers. 

Each Atlas Cross Sport includes several active safety technologies, including: Side Assist (Blind Spot Monitor) with Rear Traffic Alert, Pedestrian Detection; Autonomous Emergency Braking, Hill Descent Control, Electronic Stability Control, and much more. Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go, Park Distance Control and a multi-function camera are standard in some trim levels. 

The Atlas Cross Sport doesn’t fall short on entertainment.
